Why Daughters of History?

History is shaped by the stories we choose to tell. For generations, many historical narratives have focused on those in power, while countless others have been overlooked. Some of histories greatest achievements have been celebrated, while many of its darkest truths have been downplayed, ignored or forgotten. We believe understanding both the triumphs and the tragedies helps us build a more informed, compassionate future.

History isn’t always comfortable. It contains injustice, oppression, war and prejudice. If we only acknowledge what makes us feel proud, we risk not knowing how we arrived where we are today. Learning the full story deepens our understanding. By exploring a wider range of voices, cultures and experiences, we gain an honest picture of the past and the lessons it offers for the future.

At Daughters of History, we believe history belongs to everyone. By celebrating historical voices, recognising the importance of nature, embracing diversity and inclusion, and refusing to ignore humanity’s darkest tragedies-including genocide-we hope to encourage curiosity, empathy and meaningful conversations.

Historical content has been thoroughly researched and approached with care and respect.

Quality, sustainability and ethical production are also very important to us.

Our mission

We exist to celebrate women who shaped history, and bring attention to extraordinary icons that are often overlooked or forgotten.

We exist to remind everyone how important it is to look after the earth and how far removed we have become from nature.

We believe that even though we are all different, no one person is better than any other. Every single soul deserves to live a happy, peaceful life, being our authentic selves, free from the threat of persecution.

Meet the founder

Hi, I’m Natalie.

I’m the woman behind Daughters of History, and I’m happy you’ve found your way here :)

Like many, I started asking questions about the stories we weren’t told - and those questions eventually became Daughters of History.

When I’m not researching women throughout history, forgotten stories and the events that shaped our world, you’ll usually find me with a mug of tea and a chocolate bar, planning the next design and deciding whose story deserves to be told next.

I wanted to create something that encourages conversations, celebrates those who have been overlooked and inspires people to discover more.

Looking ahead

This is just the beginning.

There are countless stories still waiting to be told, countless women whose contributions deserve to be recognised and countless opportunities to learn from our past.

My hope is that Daughters of History becomes more than just a brand. I want it to be a place where curiosity is encouraged, conversations are welcomed and history is explored with honesty, empathy and an open mind.
